From Insomnia to Peaceful SleepExemplo

From Insomnia to Peaceful Sleep

Dia 1 de 3

This is the night the Lord has made

Just how important is sleep to you anyway? If your answer is VERY important, then make a commitment NOW that you will complete each day of this 3-day plan. Each day builds on the previous day so that by the time you complete day 3, you will be sleeping better than you ever have before. Complete this plan and your sleep will definitely improve!

Each night you will have the opportunity to experience a real sleep session that combines scientific relaxation techniques with encouraging Biblical principles that will help you sleep better than ever.

Every day, your spiritual enemy is lying to you. He wants to rob you of a good night's sleep by convincing you that insomnia is something you’ll never overcome. He does this by constantly whispering lies to you. If you believe his lies about yourself, God, and sleep, you will have a much more difficult time getting a good night's sleep.

You have a choice about who you believe. God says that He has given you the power to refuse satan’s lies and accept God’s truth. You can do this and God will help you.

God wants you to sleep peacefully tonight because He designed you for sleep. So now we will meditate on truths that remind us of things God wants us to remember each night as we lay down to sleep. These confessions will replace the lies that our spiritual enemy has tried to get us to believe. Let these nightly confessions bring peace to your soul and rest to your body.

Did you know that many sleep studies have concluded that at night, people are often asleep when they think they are awake? We drift in and out of sleep sometimes thinking we’re always awake. These same studies also show that people frequently get more sleep than they think they do because we think we are awake when in reality we’ve been drifting in and out of sleep. So remind yourself of this often:

Since I get more sleep than I think I do, tonight I won’t worry about how much sleep I get.

Why don’t you repeat this again to yourself: Since I get more sleep than I think I do, tonight I won’t worry about how much sleep I get.

In Psalm 118, God tells us, “This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Since God also made the night, let’s apply this principle to God’s will for us at night:

This is the night the Lord has made, I will relax and sleep peacefully in it.

Say this again to yourself, very slowly:

This is the night the Lord has made, I will relax and sleep peacefully in it.

Once more, let this sink in… This is the night the Lord has made, I will relax and sleep peacefully in it.

Remembertomorrow builds on today. You’ve committed to finishing this plan and sleeping better than you ever have before!

Tonight when you are ready for bed, pop in your earbuds, click on the audio clip below and relax as you close your eyes and listen to a portion of the SleepSmartz “Nightly Confessions” sleep session that will reinforce today’s devotional as you drift off to sleep.
