God's Got It

Scripture Reading: Romans 8:28, James 1:2-4, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, John 16:33

Life is full of challenges that we face daily. Those challenges have caused many people to stray away from the faith and turn back to the things God brought them from. We must realize that God is always in control. God is in complete control no matter what we face or how bad the road looks. Paul the Apostle tells us, "We know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28)." He didn't say some things. He said all things.

Our job is to trust God in every aspect of our lives. Not just when things are going the way we want them to go but also when things seem completely out of control. Look at it like this, when things are out of control, know that God is in control. When you have been praying and seeking God for help, but it seems like He's silent, you should speak life and say, "God's Got It." If you struggle to pay the bills and feel like you've done everything you can, you must trust in Him, speak life, and say, "God's Got It." If you have relationship problems and have been seeking God's help but can't see how things will improve, you must trust Him, speak life, and say, "God's Got It." If work has been stressing you out, you feel overwhelmed with life's challenges, or you don't know what to do in your toughest moments, you must trust in Him, speak life, and say, "God's Got It." No matter what the situation is, always know that God's Got It!

What you don't want to do is give up and turn back to wicked living. Most of the time, we give up when the weight of life seems too heavy for us to carry. We ask God to help us, expecting Him to remove the weight, which He can do, but here's a different perspective. Those who work out to build muscle tend to use heavy weights. The weight tears the muscles, and over time the muscles rebuild, so they are bigger and stronger. That way, the next time the muscles need to carry that same heavy weight, the weight won't seem as heavy because the muscle has become bigger and stronger. In the case of dealing with the heavy weight of life, our faith is the muscle that needs to become bigger and stronger. The heavy weight would be life's challenges, such as work stress, enemies, hardships, money problems, relationship issues, supernatural attacks, condemnation for being a believer, and anything else you can think of. All of these test our faith, and our faith becomes stronger over time. James tells us, "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing (James 1:2-4)." We must build our muscle of faith in order to endure the heavy weights of life by putting complete trust in God, knowing that in our weakness, He is our strength. Knowing that the heaviest weights life might hit us with, God will give us the strength to endure.

In 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, Paul understood this, as he had a burden he was dealing with that he asked the Lord three times to remove. But when he asked, the Lord said, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." This was when Paul changed his way of thinking. Paul decided that he would now boast about his weaknesses so that the power of Christ might be his strength. Paul says in that same scripture, "Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." It took strong faith for Paul to operate this way. We must reach a point in life where our faith in Christ is so strong that we know, without any doubt, that He becomes our strength when we are weak.

In closing out this devotional, remember that God is always in control if you put your trust in Him. Nothing we are dealing with should make us walk away from Him. There is not one challenge this life brings that God can't be your strength to get you through. There is nothing in your past that God can't forgive. As believers, we trust God for everything. We must continue to press toward the mark. Keeping our minds on the things of the spirit, not the flesh, knowing that God is always in control. So, don't worry about anything because God's Got It.

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." ~Jesus The Christ~
