Trust God : A Holy Week DevotionalExemplo

Trust God : A Holy Week Devotional

Dia 2 de 4

Today we are going to reflect on what Jesus accomplished on the cross that day. He was crucified beside two criminals who were destined for doom. In Luke 23:39-43, we see how those two criminals hanging beside Him and how they react to Jesus there. One chooses to mock Jesus and challenges Jesus to save himself and them too. But the other rebukes him and asks Jesus to remember him when His kingdom comes. Within that instant, this criminal’s destiny is changed. He will be with Christ in paradise now! Christ can turn our lives around in a moment. In Acts 9, we see how Saul was brought to his knees and then goes on to become an apostle for Christ.

That is what Jesus has done for us! He was innocent going to the cross and God chose to lay all the sin of the world, all the brokenness, all bondages on Him. He was a worthy sacrifice to be slain! God chose Him worthy to bear all our sin on himself. So, we must be “okay” with leaving not only our sin, but our guilt and shame as well because Jesus can handle it. He only had to die once, but we come to the cross daily to be rejuvenated. In Matthew 11:25 Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”.

Challenge

When we struggle with brokenness and sin in our lives, know that Jesus has already paid it all for us. Romans 5:8 reminds us that while we were still sinners, Jesus died for us! Trust God with your brokenness. Go to the cross daily, leave your burdens at the foot of the cross and leave with a joy and a renewed relationship with God!
