When the Right Thing Isn't Easy

If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28 (CEV)

Dad said to play with your little brother, but he’s so annoying and is making you mad.

Mom said to clean your room, but there’s so much stuff to put away.

Your teacher said to be quiet, but you already have to be quiet so much in school.

It is hard to be good sometimes! It can wear a kid out. God wants us to be good, too. And the great thing is, he promises to help us do it!

Imagine God helping you to be nice to your brother, giving you strength to clean your room, helping you stay quiet when you have to. Jesus doesn’t give us a bunch of rules to make us tired. He knows it’s hard for us to always do the right things on our own, so he offers to help us.

So this week if you find it hard to listen to instructions, obey your parents, or be kind to others, turn to Jesus. Pray and ask him to help you do the right thing!

HERO TRAINING

It’s not always easy to do the right thing. In fact, sometimes it’s downright hard! But God will help you in those moments. Draw a picture of you praying. Use this as a reminder that you can pray to God and ask him to help you!

GOD'S WONDERFUL WORLD

The dung beetle is the strongest animal in the world compared to its body weight. They can push 1,000 times their weight! (It’d be nice to have a dung beetle around to help with heavy tasks like carrying the groceries!)
