Four Steps to Model Christ at WorkExemplo
Four Steps to Model Christ at Work: Step Four
A Gospel Coalition article by Miranda Carls provides four steps to improve your experience at work and to represent Christ more fully. The final step in this series is keeping work in perspective.
So many of our waking hours are consumed by work. This can eventually give us a distorted view of life, making work problems bigger than they need to be.
We can become so overwhelmed with work that we begin to lose our grounding. It’s crucial that we maintain a strong relationship with the Lord through prayer and studying God’s Word.
Matthew 6:33 teaches, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Hopefully, this series has provided some encouragement towards representing Christ well in your workplace.
Questions for Reflection
- How do you organize your day? What are the non-negotiable events or tasks that must be completed or attended before anything else? What gets pushed into the spaces between those events or tasks?
- What is the value of the non-negotiables in your life? What will their impact be in five years? What is the reasoning behind the hierarchy of your priority list?
- Where does time spent with God fall? And should it be adjusted?
