Rise & Grind vs. Arise & ShineExemplo

Rise & Grind vs. Arise & Shine

Dia 4 de 5

The work/life balance is a concept that has been discussed heavily within the last ten years.

This can often feel like a balancing act, as we juggle a career, a family, bills, and all of the other things that we deem important to us. As we tip the scales, we are fearful that other areas will be neglected. Having a proper work/life balance will allow us to feel a sense of harmony within our lives.

Psalm 133:2 says this:

“For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe.”

God doesn’t want us to sit and shy away from productivity, but He certainly does not want us to toil away for all of our lives, either. Having harmony within your life doesn’t mean that everything has fallen into place and we have no worries. Instead, harmony allows us to reach a level of peace that is sustainable. Everlasting peace is only found in God, and this everlasting peace provides a clear lens through which we can view our life, our career, and ourselves. We no longer have to juggle all of these things. Instead, we find rest, harmony, and peace.

This doesn’t come naturally to everyone, and I myself am no different. I feel that I can’t rest or take a day off because I want to be in control. I want to know what’s going on. What I found from rising and grinding was not success, but exhaustion. I was burnt out, and I did not have the peace that I thought I would have reached.

Because I needed rest.

You can’t ride until the wheels fall off, because then you’ll wind up stranded. Don’t allow your pursuit of the grind to steal your enjoyment of life.

Arise with peace, and shine the light of the Lord so that all who are near take notice.
