Grace

Your wife is not perfect, and neither are you.

Realizing that truth should make it abundantly clear that grace needs to be at the center of our marriages. I would encourage you to memorize Ephesians 4:32 and refer to it frequently, especially when conflicts arise. Lions are quick to forgive and offer grace to their spouses on a consistent basis.

We must recognize that she won’t always be doing things in accordance to how we think they should be done. And guess what, buttercup? You will not meet all her expectations either. To receive grace, we need to be continually extending grace. True grace means not holding on to transgressions or mistakes of the past. Holding on to grudges isn’t conducive to a loving marriage and can lead to a hardened heart. Modeling the type of grace that Jesus gave us is one of the manliest things you can do to love your woman.

Question to Consider

1. How do you extend grace now to your wife?
2. What would your marriage look like if more grace was extended and less bitterness practiced?
3. What actions will you commit to today to be the leader God intends you to be?
