Find Joy in the JourneyExemplo
Day 2: Choose Change
“You don’t have to, you get to!” The greatest gift God gave humanity is the power of choice. We don’t have to serve Him, we get to! The liberating power of choice is so intertwined with love that we must stop and ponder the reality that this love is divine and not of this world.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16 KJV)
To successfully embrace the power of choice, we also acknowledge its companion – change.
Often times in our daily routine we can hesitate when it comes to change or anything that breaks the order of our day.The busy beavers in personality tests at this point would be midstream meltdown because the regimen has changed.
Those of you who are Moms completely understand what I am saying. Finding a system and rhythm that works for your family is a dream come true. As women, we spend our moments, our days, and our lives seeking to be organized so we can represent organization and produce structure in our many roles in life.
But guess what? Life interrupts your organization, and the passion that you have managed explodes.
You might ask, “Why the explosion?” It could be we didn’t give ourselves room for life’s unexpected changes.
Let's agree, no amount of organization can prevent life’s unexpected interruptions, and the one thing we can take ownership of is how we respond to those interruptions.
What a relief! That means we can’t fix everything and everyone’s issue. That truth unlocks the joy that’s already in you, but now it’s liberated.
"These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full." (John 15: 11, ESV)
"And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive Him because it isn’t looking for Him and doesn’t recognize Him. But you know Him because He lives with you now and later will be in you." (John 14:16-17, NLT)
“God made the entire human race and made the earth hospitable, with plenty of time and space for living so we could seek after God, and not just grope around in the dark but actually find Him." (Acts 17:26-27, The Message)
Let’s pray together.
Heavenly Father, give us the strength and courage to embrace every corridor of change when it’s presented. Give us a greater capacity to trust Your sovereign hand in and over our lives. We ask that fear, intimidation, and anxiousness would not take root in our lives. We thank You for the work of the Holy Spirit being freely released in our lives with the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit. We thank You for joy! In Your mighty name, Amen.
