Strengthening Children’s Identity

Dia 3 de 4

One of the names of God is “El Gabor, Champion Warrior, One who has never lost a fight.” We are created in God’s image therefore we are created to be a champion warrior. We need to train and release young warriors (our children) for battle in prayer emphasizing that Satan is the enemy and Jesus is their General. We need to lead our children in showing them that this is part of their identity in Christ and to take their aggression as a warrior or a mother bear and focus their aggression toward the enemy. Our fight is not against flesh and blood, it is against principalities.

David fought from a place of victory. He ran towards Goliath, not away. David knew his God was El Gabor therefore he fought from a place of victory.

School has started or is about to start and our children will encounter situations along their school journey. They run to us to ask for guidance. This is a key moment to lead them to battle their situation in prayer as a champion warrior. David used the weapon he was comfortable and familiar with to fight Goliath - stones. The weapon to teach our kids to fight with spiritually is the word of God. Making the Word of God so familiar for them they can quickly pull scripture out of their satchel and throw it at the enemy with great power standing in their identity as a warrior for Jesus.

Bring this concept to life for your children by engaging as a family in the following activity:

Take rocks or balls of playdoh and throw them at a stack of cups while using God's word to declare over a situation that needs breakthrough.

Example: Someone needs healing. I will throw my rock at a stack of cups and pray “By Jesus’s stripes my friend is healed!” Then the next family member will go.

Remember to pray from a place of victory!
