Obedience: An Old Word With New LifeExemplo

Obedience: An Old Word With New Life

Dia 4 de 5

A "thank you" is enough!

You should thank God. YOU shall thank God.

Why should you do this? First, because it pleases God: "Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.”(Psalm 33:1 NIV). That should be reason enough, but you should also give thanks because it changes your life!

"How is giving thanks to God going to change me?" you may ask. Well, buckle up, because when you realize what I'm about to explain, it could change your whole life.

Isaiah 57 says, "’ I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will lead him and requite him with comfort, creating for his mourners the fruit of the lips. Peace, peace, to the far and to the near, says the Lord; and I will heal him.”’ (Isaiah 57:18-19 RSV).

Okay, some will not understand the phrase “fruit of the lips.” Because it's so important, I'm going to take the verse apart briefly.

Listen, if you believed that what comes out of your mouth would actually come true, then you would certainly be more careful with your words, wouldn't you? That's why it's so important to start by giving thanks! When you give thanks, you strain your brain to remember what God has already done, and you begin to realize that because of what He’s done in the past, He can—and will—do much more for you!

When you understand how much blessing there is in giving thanks, you will give thanks because you understand that He will bless you because of it!

Thanking will inspire you to speak positively about yourself and your future. When God then gives the "fruit of the lips," that is, He makes what comes over your lips come true, then really nothing is impossible anymore! (see Mark 9:23 NIVA "thank you" is enough!)

Let's not lose any time. Try it right now! Let's be obedient to Him by thanking Him with our words and He will surely create the wonderful fruit of our lips!

What will come from your lips today?

You are a miracle!
