Faith RenewedExemplo
Do You Want to Know Your Future?
More and more often I hear people say, "I have real fears about the future."
Yet we try to have a solution for everything — a medicine, a therapy. We have an answer for everything. And that's exactly what our problem has become. Because we have so many options, we don't even question them anymore. We accept and move on.
I had just invested a lot of time in a woman with fears about the future, shared the Word of God with her, and even connected her with a church near her. Yes, she gave her life to Jesus...but not just Jesus.
A short time later, I saw her post on Facebook that she had started fortune-telling (among other things) just "to make sure" she found answers regarding her future.
The Bible is very clear on this: "Let no one be found among you who…casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; …You must be blameless before the Lord your God." (Deuteronomy 18:10-13 NIV)
This woman's heart grew emptier and emptier. Yes, she had given her life to Jesus, but she filled her days not with His Word, but with seeking other answers. Each new day became a new search for her.
May I ask you what you fill your day with? Perhaps you don't seek your answers in esotericism, but neither do you really seek them in God's Word. May I encourage you to start fresh today by doing just that?
God’s Word says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13 NIV)
You are a miracle!
