FIRMLY KNOWING YOUR IDENTITY

Who are you? Who you think you are can empower you or imprison you. Having a distorted view of yourself is a principal cause of emotional dysfunction. You are who the Bible says you are! You have what the Bible says you have! You can do what the Bible says you can do! You have a unique design. You are what Jesus did for you. Recognizing what He’s done, His perfect and complete work, gives you forgiveness and makes you a child of God. You are a joint heir with Christ. So stop listening to Mammon's voice! He wants you to have low self-esteem and to get your worth from the things you have. He wants you to feel worthless, powerless, and trapped in comparing yourself to others.

Today choose which voice you will let influence your life. Choose the Father's voice. Be wise. Protect your soul from the constant influence of materialism which says that you need to have things to be happy. I firmly believe the axiom "Whoever has Jesus, lacks nothing!" Don't be like the eldest son in the parable of the prodigal son. He had everything but didn't enjoy it. If you at all identify with him, hear the words the Father said to him, "My son, all I have is yours!" You don't need anything Mammon can offer, for you already have everything in Jesus! It’s yours for the taking!

Remember: Mammon wants to destroy your identity. Your value is not based on what you have. Your value is in your identity in Christ Jesus. In Him, we are beloved children of God.
