Breath

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Gracious Father, the universe, the heavens, and the earth remind us that every good thing results from Your marvelous work. We humbly acknowledge that every breath is a gift from You; this is the day that You have made; help us to rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24).

By Your Spirit, we pray that our lives will be a model of Your goodness. Help us to ponder the blessings and the seasons that You have brought us through over the years, for You have created purpose in everything.

May each of us live out the purpose that You have given us, for everyone who is called by Your name has been created for Your glory (Isaiah 43:7). Be glorified today, Father.

What practical steps can I take to ensure His name is honored in all my actions and decisions?

ABOUT THIS PHOTO

• Located in the Constellation Orion, M42 (The Orion Nebula) and NGC 1977 (The Running Man Nebula) can be found about 1,300 light years from Earth.
  
  To capture this image, I used the FSQ-106 530mm f/5 telescope, the Paramount MyT (to follow the earth's rotation), and the QSI 683wsg-8 (8300) camera. To render all the data, I photo-stacked 109 exposures together for a total of 14.5 hours of data. The really cool thing about these nebulas is that they are easy to spot through binoculars or a telescope, and are located just under what is commonly known as “Orion’s Belt” — three stars lined up beside each other.
