There’s so much potential in the dawning of a new day. The sun creeps over the horizon and begins to paint the sky, birds chirp through the trees, and the wind gently whispers. So often, however, these sacred moments are forced to clash with the hustle and bustle of our lives; things vying for our attention at every turn. Every morning, whether we realize it or not, we’re faced with a choice: to rush into our day or take a moment to dwell in the secret place of God’s presence.

Psalm 91:1 invites us to “dwell in the secret place of the Most High.” This is not a fleeting visit or a quick prayer, but a deliberate choice to abide in the sacred space of communion with our Heavenly Father. It is in the secret place that we find refuge, strength, and the sweet assurance of His love.

Close your eyes and imagine a quiet garden, where the fragrance of morning dew mingles with the gentle whispers of God’s voice. In this secret place, time seems to stand still, and the noise of the world fades away. It is here that we are invited to rest in the shadow of Almighty God, finding solace and protection in His embrace.

Lingering in God’s presence is not some mere ritual; it is an intentional act of devotion. In the stillness, we discover the depth of His grace, the reassurance of His promises, and the transformative power of His love. Just as Jesus often withdrew to solitary places to pray (Luke 5:16), we too can cultivate a habit of seeking the secret place each morning.

Let this devotional be a reminder to intentionally linger in the presence of God. As you do, may you experience the profound joy of dwelling in the secret place of the Most High and resting in the shadow of the Almighty.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the invitation to dwell in Your presence. Help us to cultivate a habit of lingering in the secret place each morning. May we find rest, strength, and joy in Your embrace. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
