Crumb Faith

As you study the Bible, it doesn't take long to see that faith is a very important topic. Jesus talked a lot about faith - sometimes with surprising illustrations. That was the case in His encounter with a Canaanite woman*. James White uses the idea of "crumb faith" to help us see how Jesus views faith.

When the focus of our faith is in Jesus, even a crumb can transform our lives. Did you see where the faith of the Canaanite woman started? She was willing to go to an uncomfortable place and have a difficult conversation. When questioned, she persisted and Jesus responded by calling her faith "great." That "crumb" of faith that she placed in Jesus changed her life in a big way. That same transformative, life-changing experience is available to us as well. Start with a crumb and see where it goes.

*It was considered inappropriate in first century Jewish culture for a Canaanite (non-Jewish) woman to approach a Jewish religious teacher in this way.
