Are You a Spiritually Intelligent Parent?

Dia 1 de 3

Spiritually intelligent parents consistently acquire spiritual knowledge and successfully solve family challenges with spiritual resources. They are parents who use spirituality to address supernatural and natural challenges that affect the family system. Over the next three days, we will explore three truths spiritually intelligent parents embrace. I invite you to assess your spiritual intelligence in parenting as we journey.

But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you. John 14:26 (AMP)

Truth 1: The Holy Spirit can teach all things, including parenting.

Spiritually intelligent parents accept that the Holy Spirit can teach everything because He knows everything (1 Corinthians 2:10). Hence, they consistently ask for His help in parenting. They do not limit the Holy Spirit’s workings to the church environments or crusade grounds. Instead, they are intentional about receiving the help of the Holy Spirit in the daily activities that affect their children’s holistic development.

How often do you speak with the Holy Spirit? What are your parenting needs today? Have you asked the Holy Spirit, the Helper, for help? Ponder the meaning of “helper” and talk to the Holy Spirit like a friend who is always there. Feel free to say: “Holy Spirit, help me understand why my child yells and hits a lot these days.”, “Holy Spirit, help me as I pray for my child today.”

I talk to Him like this daily, and I can tell you it works. He tells me what to do, what to read, whom to contact, when to ignore some issues, how to respond, what to pray, etc. The Holy Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:10). He is truly a Helper!

If you believe you could use the help of the Holy Spirit in parenting right now and would like to know more about receiving His help, ponder the following scriptures and tell our Father you want the Holy Spirit right now (Don’t delay this life-changing experience):

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Acts 10:44-46 (KJV)

He said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.” When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. Acts 19:2, 4-6 (NKJV)

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Luke 11:13 (NKJV)

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Your Word says You will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask You. I ask for Your Holy Spirit to dwell in me and come upon me this moment in the name of Jesus.
