Proverbs - Wisdom for LifeExemplo
God gave Solomon wisdom in abundance, and because Solomon asked only for wisdom and not wealth and fame, God also granted him wealth and fame. Solomon needed wisdom to lead God’s people and make good decisions. God may not tell us exactly what to do in every situation or make our decisions for us, but with wisdom, we can make good choices. We are wise to ask God for wisdom, but what kind of life does wisdom give us?
Proverbs shows us the benefits of wisdom. Let’s read from Proverbs chapters 3 & 4 and make a list!
- Blessed life/Happiness (Proverbs 3:13)
- Long life (Proverbs 3:16)
- Riches and honour (Proverbs 3:16)
- Peace (Proverbs 3:17)
- Safety (Proverbs 3:23)
- A stumble-free walk (Proverbs 3:23)
- Anxiety/worry-free (Proverbs 3:24)
- Sweet sleep (Proverbs 3:24)
- Protection (Proverbs 3:25)
- Confidence (Proverbs 3:26)
- Promotion (Proverbs 4:8)
- Healing and health (Proverbs 4:22)
Who wouldn’t enjoy all these benefits? The great news is that we can have these things in our lives by daily and consistently applying God’s wisdom. We can never run out of room for wisdom—God makes it available in unlimited supply. No matter how full of wisdom you think you are, there’s always room for more!
