The Making Of

Dia 2 de 28

Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!

S: Scripture

If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.

O: Observation

Read Matthew 6:9–14 again.

  • What things do you see Jesus say we should pray for? Make a list in your own words.
  • What does this passage teach us about prayer?
  • What questions do you still have?

A: Application

  • Which parts of this prayer are easy for you to ask God for? Which ones are difficult?
  • How would your attitude change if you prayed "Your will be done" when talking to God about something you want?
  • Is there anyone you need to forgive or ask for forgiveness from?

P: Prayer

Spend some time in prayer using today's passage as a guide. Use the prompts below to say the Lord's Prayer in your own words.

  • Worship God.
  • Honor God's plans for you.
  • Ask God to provide.
  • Apologize to God.
  • Seek protection from God.

In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll see how our habits behind the scenes help us grow the faith we want to see.
