Made for More: Finding Greater Purpose Through Scripture's Well-Known Personalities

Dia 7 de 8

You were made for more before you even knew it.

Or, in the case of the Apostle Paul, he was made for more even when he thought he was already doing everything he should be doing for God!

See, Paul used to be called Saul, and he was hardcore for God. Super-hardcore, actually. So super-hardcore that he rejected Jesus as Messiah and wanted everyone to live the hardcore Old Testament lifestyle—to the point where he was a member of the mob who carried out the stoning of Stephen, the first person martyred for preaching about Jesus.

Saul thought he was doing right by God by persecuting the early Christians until Jesus met him on the road to Damascus and set him straight.

“Saul, you’re persecuting me,” Jesus told him. “You’re made for more than this.”

And that was all it took. Saul met Jesus—the real, unvarnished Jesus—and that encounter punctured everything he thought he knew about the Crucified Christ. That meeting altered the trajectory not just of his life but also of his fervent belief.

Everything Saul had been putting toward persecution switched. Now, he put it all into evangelism. He already had the talents, passion, and zeal—he just needed them directed properly.

Are you already using your “more,” but maybe in a way that God wants to change? Ask Jesus to meet you on the road and offer all your “more” to Him. Let Him guide you.

He may even change your identity, if you’ll let Him.
