Growing In Communion With GodExemplo

Growing In Communion With God

Dia 3 de 3

Oftentimes people say to me, “I love you.” I have been known to respond with, “I love you, too. But you are easy to love.” Some people are easy to love. What will we do about those who are difficult to love? Bringing the kingdom of God to this world involves loving not only those who are easy to love, but also (especially!) those we find difficult to love. Jesus said even sinners love those who love them.

In the kingdom of God, everyone is loved. But, what does this kingdom love really look like and what does it have to do with a lifestyle of prayer? If we are praying, “Give us our daily bread” then we are learning to trust God for all our needs. This type of trust frees us to give graciously and bountifully to others without thought for what we might miss out on. We are learning to give without any need of receiving something in return.

Luke 6:35 goes on to say, “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High.” That’s just like God. He gave to me when I had nothing to give Him. He gives to me when I cannot repay Him. He blesses me when I can do nothing for Him.

When you give God everything, He will always give you back more. Will you give everything to Jesus? Will you participate in His kingdom, that kingdom which looks so different from the world? Will you trust Him to provide your daily bread? Will you be broken for the world? Learning to live a life of conversation with God will enable us to trust Him completely along the way. Like taking a walk with a person, as we walk close to God we can always lean over to God and ask, “Is everything going to be alright?” And we can trust that He will always answer, “I love you and I will take care of your needs.” What a joy to have such a relationship with the Creator; that we can share conversation with Him and trust His provision for us.
