Learning to Find Joy in Everyday LifeExemplo
An ordinary day can also be extraordinary.
Whenever we picture Moses, we imagine him at his most glorious moment, in the midst of a great trial or with the tablets of the law while lightning and thunder crackle behind him. Although this is all true, Moses also had a common life like you and me; he had a family, wife, siblings, children, and neighbors.
Solomon describes in Ecclesiastes 9:7-9 that enjoying those around you and your family is part of this life.
What did Moses do on an ordinary day?:
(V: 1-6) He took care of his family. While you're bored, your child grows.
While you're distracted, your mom and dad get older. While you're overwhelmed, those moments that God gives you with your siblings, your spouse, and your family keep passing. The question is: Who could give you back time? Will a photo tell you what was lived that day? Was your child's face in the photo a forced smile or were they truly happy? Who are they learning from? Will you always be with your parents? You don't know if you'll have to be somewhere else soon!
(V: 7) Enjoy normal conversations.
Moses talked with his father-in-law about the administration of an entire people, and about the glorious signs that God showed, as well as the difficulties they faced. In front of his father-in-law, he could show himself as he was; you can tell the great things that God has done with you (Luke 8:39)
(V:12) Enjoy meals and celebrations with others.
Eat with others and celebrate the life that God gave you, celebrate healthily. Surely Jethro and Moses ate in the middle of the desert (Exodus 18:12), why am I telling you this? For the following reason: are you waiting for the perfect moment to go on vacation? To be happy and share? Decide to be happy today, even if there's nothing "supernatural or extraordinary."
God is giving you an ordinary day so that you can transform it into a day of blessing alongside those around you.

All the great men and women in the Bible also had ordinary days, boring, routine days filled with great pressures. What can we learn from them? Even our normal, everyday days belong to God, and He is glorified in them as well. I encourage you to read this devotional and find joy in all your ordinary days.
