Jehovah-Rapha: The Lord who heals

Our God is a mighty God. He has the power to give sight to the blind, to heal sickness and disease, and to raise the dead to life. In His hands, anything can be restored. He is the greatest healer who ever was and ever will be. However, our Jehovah-Rapha is not limited to just healing the sick. He can heal a broken heart or a crushed spirit. He can heal a tormented mind or a bitter heart.

God doesn’t want us to just survive; He wants us to thrive. And thriving comes from seeking God and living according to His Word. When Pharoah terrorised the Israelites (Exodus 15), it was God who delivered them and kept them safe. It was God who provided fresh water for them. It was God who healed their hearts. And like the people of Israel, God wants to provide for us and heal us. He was Jehovah-Rapha to the people of Israel back then, and He is Jehovah-Rapha to us today. His power has not waned and His love for His people has not changed.

What do you need to be healed from today? Whatever it may be, I encourage you to spend time at Jesus' feet, seeking the heart of our Jehovah-Rapha. Bring your pain, heartache, and needs to Him, and rest in the knowledge that our Jehovah-Rapha is still the God who heals today.
