Becoming Weightless

Dia 9 de 14

You probably won't believe this…

...but I find it so, so hard to memorize Bible verses! Especially remembering exactly where they are located. And this, despite engaging with the Bible daily and writing such texts to you!

How often have I stood on stages and thought, "Man, it would be great if I could 'just' remember texts that I've written...!" But no, if I don't prepare, then even I don't remember my own texts, let alone the Bible verses I've used. Crazy, isn't it?

So, I learned the importance of ALWAYS BEING PREPARED to go out the front door at an event. As I did this one evening, I met a woman and we started talking.

She told me that she didn't even know why she was there. She just felt like meeting a nice man and disappearing with him. She kept saying, "What am I even doing here? What is the meaning of life?" And then she told me how she self-harms...

I, Déborah, had no words for her situation. An "it'll be okay" wouldn't have helped here, but God had words for her—through me! In that moment, words just poured out of me:

"Hey, God has plans of salvation, not of disaster for you!" (see Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)

"You are His beloved child!" (see Acts 17:28 NIV)

"If you put your hope in Jesus, He will give you the strength you need to survive." (see Isaiah 40:31 NIV)

Perhaps those weren't the exact words as printed in the Bible, but it was exactly the message God had for us humans, for this woman, in that moment!

You don't have to have the right words yourself, because God will speak the right words through you!

What can you do? Prepare yourself by staying connected to Him and reading His Word! Even if you can't remember the Bible verses, your heart will be full of what He wants to convey through you!

Thank you for doing that! For yourself, and through you, for others!

You are a miracle!

Déborah
