Jesus, I Need You Part 6Exemplo
QUIET MOMENT
Be glad when people cast insults at you and spurn your name as evil. Blessed are you when men hate you and exclude you. Have you had anyone cast insults at you or spurn your name as evil for the name and sake of Christ, for the Son of Man? What was it like? What do you feel now? If you haven’t been persecuted in the name of Christ, what comes to your mind when you think about it happening to you?
GOING DEEPER
Today we will read the next portion of the Sermon on the Mount. Pray first, asking the Lord to help you hear His words and take them to heart. As you are reading, note what Jesus says about each topic. Then note if you struggle with this. If so, where and how?
Matthew 5:21-26
Matthew 5:27-30
Matthew 5:31-32
Matthew 5:33-37
Matthew 5:38-42
Matthew 5:43-48
After reading the above Scriptures, which deal so specifically with living in the spirit of God’s Word, imagine yourself being in the midst of the Pharisees. Read carefully what Jesus says in John 9:39-41. Ask the Lord to help you be willing to acknowledge your inability to see your sin as Jesus sees your sin.
REFLECTION AND PRAYER
What area do you think you need to address? Sometimes we are afraid to have our eyes opened for fear there is too much to change or because we don’t want to change. Or maybe we don’t even see that there is anything to change. Again, go to the Lord in prayer. Praise Him first, confess the sin the Lord revealed to you today, thank Him, and ask Him for help, for grace, and for His power and love to overcome.
TAKING THE TRUTH TO HEART AND BRINGING IT TO LIFE
Choose one truth from today and apply it to your heart. Take it with you throughout the day.
Sobre este plano
It’s important to know Jesus and what is important to Him so we understand our need for Him. Reflecting on what Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount, will help us draw closer to Him. This is part six of eight in the "Jesus, I Need You" series by Thistlebend Ministries. These plans can be done in any order. See also" Jesus, I Need You" (companion prayer).
