7 Proverbs For LeadersExemplo
Priceless
“For wisdom is better than rubies. All the things that may be desired can’t be compared to it.” (Pro 8:11)
Imagine a great big pile of precious stones, diamonds, sapphires and rubies. A literal goldmine of wealth. What would we do to attain this wealth? We all work hard to build a better future and provide for our families, ourselves, and the wider community. We in business value profit and monetary reward, and there is nothing wrong with that.
What we don’t do, at least I find I don’t do, is value wisdom above rubies. It may be just me, but then again maybe not. God says quite clearly that His Wisdom is more valuable than rubies. Then He ‘ups the ante’ to say it is more valuable than anything that can be desired. Anything? Wait, could that be right?
If God who created us is saying His wisdom should be pursued and valued more than anything else, we all have some readjustment of our priorities required.
Often our time with Him or study of the Word is pushed into an available corner of time rather than made a priority. This Proverb would suggest, or insist, that it become an absolute imperative, as it is the foundation to all other worthwhile things.
Quick Prayer: Forgive me for not valuing Your wisdom as I should. Amen.
