The Victory
This verse is like seeing a set of lungs being placed in a chest. Doctors go through years of medical school, training, internships, practice, study, reading, etc. to get to the place where they find themselves lowering a vibrant, pink set of lungs into someone's body. In fact, there was probably much discussion, between everyone who was playing a role in the surgery, about the intricate details of what it would take to pull it off successfully. Maybe they had a verbal run through or dress rehearsal. Then, with the doctor prepared, they begin. The lungs are placed, they are attached and everyone stands back holding their own breaths, eyes focused and looking for movement, ears straining to hear that initial rush of air into the lungs that would signal life. And then, there it is, "Whoosh!" Breath, the power to live.
The life of the body that now houses the new lungs does not come merely by the talk or words or the study of the team that placed the lungs inside the body but, by the lungs power to function as they were created and the Creator’s will that they live.
So it is with the Kingdom of God. No amount of words or talk can add up to seeing God’s Kingdom in our lives, we must have action; moving, breathing, day by day living by God’s power. Power from whom darkness flees, injustice fails, ocean’s roar, mountains bow, nations tremble and enemies fall. The power of the Victorious.
