A Prayer for Provision
“The Hebrew word raah (RA-ah, from which yireh is derived) means ‘to see’… [and] is translated as ‘provide’… Interestingly the English word ‘provision’ is made up of two Latin words that mean ‘to see beforehand.’ When you pray to Yahweh Yireh, you are praying to the God who sees the situation beforehand and is able to provide for your needs.” – Ann Spangler (See Gen. 22:13-14)
Dear Yahweh Yireh,
There are many costs in caring for survivors of human trafficking. Yet you commanded us not to be anxious for anything. Instead you called us to let our requests be known by prayer, supplication and with thanksgiving. (Phil. 4:6) In fact, you know our needs before we even ask you! (Matt. 6:8) I pray for the needs of Abolition International and the shelters in their association, in order to sustain quality aftercare for survivors.
I thank you for supplying every need according to the riches of your glory. (Phil. 4:19) Thank you for blessing them abundantly so that in all things, at all times, having all that they need, they will abound in every good work. You distribute freely and give to the poor. Thank you for supplying and multiplying the seed for sowing and for increasing the harvest of their righteousness. May they be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which will produce thanksgiving to you, O God. (2 Cor. 9:8-11) In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
