Catalyst Conference: A Week Of ChangeSample
Day 4
Read 1 John 3.16-18
Today we’re making a shift from internal change to external change and John is crystal clear. If we’ve been impacted by Jesus’ sacrificial love, we act differently. We lead differently. We don’t just talk about love. We live it.
John’s charge to the first century church still reverberates today. Let’s dig down into that truth as leaders. What would it look like if God’s love informed our leadership? How do we equip and remind leaders to show true love? How would we spend our day if we loved God and really wanted people to know His love? Is our teaching more about being morally good than it is about recognizing and reflecting the One who died for us?
As we remind ourselves of God’s love and how it can look in our particular context, loving others is going to require boldness. It’s going to require wisdom. It’s going to require humility. It’s going to require God’s Spirit empowering us.
Let’s ask God for His power right now.
Prayer
Going Deeper
Jesus, thank You for Your love. Thank You for giving Your life for me. Forgive me for talking about love more than acting in love. Forgive me for my instinctive responses that look nothing like Your love. Help me to love You and the people around me as I lead. Help me to rely on Your wisdom and strength as I equip and encourage my team. When I don’t want to love, give me the power to do it. I need patience and I need You. Thank You for loving me and using me. Amen.

About this Plan
We’re challenging leaders who love the Church to break the boundaries of an ordinary existence and find the courage to embrace and radiate bold change. Let’s dig into the Holy Scriptures with this seven-day reading plan developed with our friends at American Bible Society. We’ll focus on internal change and external change. We’ll align ourselves with the ultimate change maker and the bold change God has for us.
