DAY 10 OF 21

Through and Through

Many Christians see the purpose of Christ’s death on the cross as nothing more than purchasing our ticket to heaven. They are content with looking forward to eternal life, forgetting that Jesus also promises abundant life in the present. Thank God for the promise of heaven, but we have so much power that is available to us through the cross right now.

Let’s consider these great promises we see in today’s scripture. First, we notice that the one who is working in us is God, Himself. That’s encouraging. It doesn’t all depend on our own self-will; it’s God who is at work in our lives.

Second, notice how fully and completely God is working within us – “through and through”. God leaves nothing undone. His restorative work is all encompassing, perfect, complete. He’s restoring our whole “spirit, soul, and body.” That’s everything! All that we are, God promises to restore.

Finally, I love that last promise – “He will do it.” God always keeps His word. If God said it (and He did), that settles it. God has never failed at anything and he never will!

PRAYER

Lord, thank you that you care about every part of my life; my whole spirit, soul, and body – my heart, my thoughts, my feelings – you care about all of it. I thank you for the promise of eternal life, but I am also trusting you for abundant life right now. I commit myself to cooperating with your restorative work in my life. All of me belongs to you!

About this Plan

Restored!

All you were meant to be - your hopes, your dreams, your deepest desires - are found in the person of Jesus Christ. In this study, you will learn what God's word reveals about God's plans and purposes for restoring you to the person that He intended you to be. As you increase your understanding,  you will grow in your ability to cooperate with what He desires to do in your life.
