The Good News In 10 DaysSample

Day 5
One-Minute Devotion
One Thought, One Prayer, One Scripture
Salvation is composed of three primary aspects: 1) Justification—our right standing before God—“perfect forever” (Hebrews 10:14). 2) Sanctification—the work Christ is doing in us—“being made holy” (Hebrews 10:14). 3) Glorification—redemption’s completed work—“those he justified, he also glorified” (Romans 8:30 NIV).
Justification is an act of God whereby the sinner is absolved of his guilt and declared righteous before God on the basis of the sinner’s faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Even as Jesus’ sacrificial death satisfied the just requires of God’s law so His sinless life satisfied His righteous requirements. We could never meet the requirements of God’s holy law but what we could not do for ourselves Jesus has done for us. When we express faith in Christ His righteousness is imputed to us thus becoming the basis by which God justifies us—that is declares us righteous.
Lord Jesus, I cannot justify myself. You are my only hope. Impute Your righteousness to me that I might be justified before God. In Your holy name I pray. Amen
