The Tent Of MeetingSample

The Tent Of Meeting

DAY 7 OF 7

Today is the last day in our series on Bezalel and the Tent of Meeting. I hope you have been encouraged and inspired so far.

We finish our study in chapter 36 where Bezalel and the artisans start building the Tent of Meeting. I love the part of the passage in verse 2 where we are told that the artisans were “eager to get to work.”

In life, I know it’s rare – or even impossible – to always be able to do the things we like. I know there are those moments where we are a little tired or weary (it happens to all of us!) and we need to make the decision to live by our convictions rather than our feelings. That being said, I believe our feelings should generally be those of someone who is “eager” to serve.

If, generally speaking, that’s not quite the case for you, maybe it’s worth asking yourself a few questions: Why do I feel like this? Am I in the right place? Am I using the capacities God has placed in my hands? What are my personal motives? Are there decisions I could make in order to be a little less tired and weary? Have I let offense or something else take root in my heart? Is there something I have to change in order to see my passion renewed?

If we want to stay the path as artisans in the Tent of Meeting, I believe it’s essential for us to never let anything get to our hearts. Let’s make every effort to not live our lives offended and let’s learn to deal right away with the things that could hinder the work that God wants to do through our lives.

I love the rest of the passage where we read that the people would bring their offerings day after day for the building of the Temple, to a point where the artisans had to tell Moses to ask the people to stop because there was already more than enough! Imagine the day where there would literally be so much resource in God’s House – so many people, so much finance, so much gifting & talent – that we had no other choice than to dream even bigger dreams in order to reach more people with the message of the Gospel. I believe this could be our reality if all of us started taking ownership of the work God has entrusted to us and if we fully understand the importance of what we bring.

We are the artisans of the Tent of Meeting! Let’s do this!

Today’s question: Is my heart still eager to serve God? If not, how can I stir my passion anew?

About this Plan

The Tent Of Meeting

From the beginning of time, God has called upon artists to make His presence known on the earth. In the book of Exodus, we can read the story of Bezalel, the artisan who God chose to lead the building of the Tent of Meeting. It is said that this was the place that God would speak to Moses, “as one speaks to a friend”. This reading plan is for all those who serve their local church as part of the creative team and for all those who would like to know more about how God is calling us to use our creativity for His glory.
