Day 3 - Miles Away

Though you may run miles away 

You’ll never run beyond his grace 

You’re gonna fall and make mistakes 

His love will find you, miles away

“Miles Away” is about the unconditional, unending love of God. Sometimes we think that we need to clean ourselves up before coming to God. When we sin, we feel alone and isolated, and we think God is far off and ashamed of us. We doubt that God could really accept us. 

The truth is no matter where you’ve been, or what you’ve done, God loves you and is welcoming you into a relationship with Him. You are NEVER beyond God’s grace!

“God sent His Son into the world not to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” - John 3:17 (NLT)

God does not desire to condemn you and make you feel more shame for the choices you’ve made, but He wants to save and redeem you from your past. 

We see this amazing love and grace in the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15. After the son left his father and lived a life of sin, he thought his father wouldn’t welcome him back as a son, but as a servant. The son knew he didn’t deserve to be loved and accepted because he deeply hurt his father by the way he lived. However, the father did what none of us would have expected. When the son was still a long way off down the road, his father ran out to meet him. He hugged and kissed him and then threw a party because his son returned home. This is the way God loves you! When you fall and mistakes, don’t isolate yourself from His love. He is ready to run and meet you right where you are. 

Dear Lord,

Thank you for running to meet me no matter where I am. Even when I wander off and make mistakes, I could never run beyond your grace. You always welcome me back with open arms. I want to understand your heart for me in a deeper way.
