Living Changed: IdentitySample

The Way Out
As long as our false identity is active, it will continue to grow bigger. Eventually, it overtakes our understanding and belief in God’s truth. This reality renders us blind, unable to see past it to the root of what is causing it: Satan’s lies. These lies then become the excuses we use to continue living with bitterness, guilt, or fear. But God has given us a way out! A way paved with truth.
When it comes to defeating Satan’s lies, God’s truth is the most powerful weapon we have. Why? Because it’s the only real and unchanging reality that exists. It’s not an opinion or a theory. We don’t have to guess or contemplate if it is right.
What we must do is study, understand, and believe that God’s truth applies to our life. Overtime, as we read the Bible and talk with Jesus, truth will become tattooed on our hearts and minds. This gives us the ability to differentiate between what we think and feel and what is really true. When we start identifying false thoughts and taking them captive, God can replace them with who He says we really are. Truth is the anchor that holds us to what will really change us.
To the extent that we know truth, is the extent to which we can grow. Grab ahold of God, and never let go. He will not only change the way you think, but He will change the way you live.
What small step can you take to start attaching truth to your life?
