Have you ever known a person who has been at peace regardless of their circumstances? Have you ever known a person whose circumstances are perfect but they’re not at peace?
 

Often times, we like to think that life is perfect when we attain recognition, wealth, fame, or become someone of importance. We tend to put our hope in and build our lives on earthly things to sustain our happiness. The question is, can they withstand the storms of life? 

We know that status, power, and finances can’t secure our lives if we base our well-being on them. We can’t put our hope in things that are inconsistent, temporary, and prone to change. So, what is consistent? What is permanent? What it is unchanging? We know based off of Jesus’s words in Mark 13 that our lives are built not on something, but on someone. Jesus’s word is consistent, permanent, and unchanging because He is the Word. 

Not only is Jesus, the eternal Word, a firm foundation to build our life on--He gives us everything we need to build the life He has for us. If God is the one directing your future, and your life is built on Him, no matter what circumstance is surrounding you, know that His promises are who He is. They are yes and amen in Christ Jesus. He holds them in high esteem because they are a guarantee of His character. Jesus is the firm foundation.
