God is Redeeming 

Know God’s Heart; a Heart of love and goodness

In Jeremiah 9: 23 & 24, The Lord speaks through the prophet Jeremiah saying “Let not the wise man glory in His wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in His might, nor let the rich man glory in His riches; But let him who glories glory in this, that He understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, exercising loving kindness, judgement, and righteousness in the earth, for in these I delight,”. 

It is imperative for a believer to pride in understanding and knowing God as a dispenser of loving kindness. Scripture divulges to us, His loving kindness as being redemptive in nature and Himself being the Great Redeemer. God declares to His people in Isaiah 54:5 saying ‘for your Maker is your husband, The Lord of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth’. God is reminding them that even though He is the God of the whole earth, He is also the great Redeemer. 

Redemption is God bringing us out of the mess we are in, restoring us to our original state and elevating us to a better place. Psalmist David in acknowledging God as being Redeemer declares in Psalms 145:14 as ‘the Lord upholds all who fall and raises up all who are bowed down’. He brings us up from where we have fallen and restores us to a better place. The redemption of God is better understood in the story of the prodigal son. Despite squandering everything away, when the father receives him back he not only restores him as son but celebrates him. When we look at life’s trials, let’s look at them through God’s redemptive eyes knowing He is able to not only restore nut elevate. 

Father help us Lord, to know and understand your heart and to live life out of your heart. To look at things with redemptive eyes and expect your redemption in every situation, for every person and no matter what they are going through, believing that you can redeem. Help us to expect that. In Jesus name, Amen.
