Clean hands and a pure heart 

This is one of our foundational prayers at OneHope. We truly believe that if we are called to do God’s work, we must do it with pure hearts and motives. Because if we lose that, we lose everything; we lose God’s Spirit. And we can’t be successful outside of the Holy Spirit’s divine leading and power in our lives.

When a big decision is weighing heavily on me, you might think that I ask God to show me which decision to make. When really, I’m on my knees examining my motives and confessing any wrongdoing in my life because I don’t believe I’ll be able to hear God’s voice or follow the Holy Spirit’s leading if my ego is in the way or if I’m distracted by any other outside influence. 

Part of our OneHope DNA is purity. We surrender our egos as we earnestly seek to find Christ’s will in every situation. We constantly pray for pure hearts and pure motives to ensure we never compromise for the sake of convenience or appearance. We aspire to impact, rather than to impress, and value collaboration with other kingdom-minded individuals—especially the local Church—to achieve His goals.

Lord, keep our hearts and motives pure. We want to be led by your Holy Spirit. Don’t let any impure thoughts or worldly hindrances creep in and distract us from Your mission. Grant us a Spirit of wisdom and revelation; open our eyes to see our inheritance. May the power that raised Christ Jesus from the dead be in us. Amen.
