Your RESET Purpose

Last time, we talked about how the Bible is our map. If that’s true, then where are we going? What’s our purpose?

God has designed good things for us. The Bible says in Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

God has a purpose for each of us. But the way we discover that purpose isn’t by worrying. It’s by following Jesus.

The truth is, God wants us to live our whole lives with a new sense of purpose. Whether we’re washing dishes, doing homework, or reading our Bible, all of these can be done with a sense of purpose. 

Jesus promises that as we’re faithful with a little, we’ll be given more (Luke 16:10-11). But that doesn’t mean we’re free to ignore the small responsibilities of life. 

God won’t be duped. He knows we’ll never truly be satisfied unless he is the main desire of our lives. As we pursue him, he’ll open the door for our dreams to grow. It all begins with coming back to our purpose to know Jesus every day.

What characteristics mark the person who follows Jesus? What does it look like to wash dishes or do homework with a sense of purpose from God? Why doesn’t God give us big responsibilities until we show we’re faithful with little ones?
