Never Walk Alone

YOUTH! Have you ever had to do something alone?

Do you ever go to a party with your friends and then it’s over and you go your separate ways and you have to take the A train all the way uptown home...ALONE?! How about when you go shoot hoops alone because all of your friends had other plans? Yew! You don’t have anyone to get your rebound or a friend to dunk on. Ha! Then again, there a somethings that are awesome to do by yourself. One thing I love to do alone is go to the movies—it’s the most relaxing thing ever to me. But, have you ever done something alone that you really needed to be doing with other people?

Can we get a bit real—have you ever stepped into a season of life and thought you could do it by yourself but before you know it you have isolated yourself from everything you used to know, sometimes even who you are. We live in a society today that screams YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF! But, can I tell you that this life wasn’t made to be done alone and God’s plan isn’t for you to walk the streets of NYC or your neighborhood doing life alone. God made each and every one of us to be in relationship with him and have each other—it’s one of the main reasons He sent His son. We were created to do this walk of life with one another, to build, and to learn from each other.

Take a look at Mark 2; I believe it’s a beautiful picture of what life looks like when you don’t walk alone. People are gathering from everywhere to see and listen to Jesus preach. There is plenty of opposition trying to prevent these people from hearing Jesus, but they see that the reward is worth the extra effort. Sometimes you have to look for those opportunities and they may not always look the way you thought they would, but know that by pushing through the opposition there is always breakthrough on the other side. Fear will always try to paralyze you, but faith will lead to freedom.

BECAUSE WHEN FEAR TRIES TO SIT YOU DOWN, FAITH ALWAYS KEEPS YOU WALKING. Remember today that if your faith is low, you’re not alone. Jesus is walking with you, we’re walking with you, church is walking with you. You can do this!
