Back To School – Prayers For ParentsSample
God, Help My Child Be Wise
We all want our kids to grow up to be wise adults. Training in wisdom is a lifelong journey and school is one of the best battlefields to test our progress. As they go off to school this year, let’s encourage them to be wise in their choices and look to God for wisdom.
When we pray for our kids to be wise, here are three prayer prompters:
- God, help my kids stand against temptation – God’s Word says that He provides a way to escape temptation. Pray for your children to see God’s “way out” and make the God-honoring choice when temptation comes their way.
- God, help my children choose friends who love You – Since friends are one of the big influencers in a child’s life, it is essential for your kids to choose good friends. It is not only wise to choose good friends, but also to be a good friend.
- God, help them be faithful in academics – School can be very difficult and the homework can be challenging. Let’s pray for our kids to try their best and learn the concepts God wants them learn—both in life and in the classroom.
We love the story of Enock, a young man in Haiti. He could have chosen a life of crime, but instead he envisioned a way to provide for his family.
