Prayers For PurposeSample

Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17

Lord, Your confirmation and Your guidance will keep me from doing that I should not do. It will keep me from experiencing evil or delays or even distractions in my work. Give me wisdom about what opportunities to pursue, what dreams are from You, and what are a distraction sent from the enemy to take me off course. Satisfy me fully in Your favor so that I cannot be lured away by temptation or a desire for significance as the world gives. 

Let me know You and let Your word be revealed to me fully (1 Samuel 3:7) so that I can embrace Your definition of significance. Protect me from the sin of pride. Arrogance is an abomination to You. Pride goes before the fall. You oppose the proud and give grace to the humble. Give me discernment between spiritually pure significance in Your kingdom and in doing Your work as opposed to that which caused Lucifer to rebel. Protect me from myself and my self-promoting desires. I commit my work to You and trust that You will establish my plans (Proverbs 16:3). In Christ's name, amen.
