Prayer For LifeSample
DAY SEVEN: Don't Limit God!
If there ever was a time for you and me to say, “O God, O God, O God, would You help me die to self? Would You lift me out of the lukewarm mediocrity that seems to have gripped this church age? Would You give me the grace to make a difference? Would You raise me up in whatever sphere of influence You give me?” the time is now.
I want you to be encouraged by something. Once the father in this passage recognized his need for Christ and asked for help with his unbelief, that was all Jesus needed to perform a miracle of healing for the boy.
When God came and started to carry my cross, I was freed from what I thought was God’s law but was, in fact, mostly my law. All of a sudden I no longer felt compelled to be a Christian in my own strength because it didn’t work. I began living by God’s promises to me, not by my promises to God.
When we walk in grace and live our lives for Christ, we experience lives that are full of the fruit of the Spirit, and instead of living for ourselves, we live for God and others.
So God, help me to represent You and to know the power of Christ within me so that Your kingdom may be advanced in my generation.
May I just give you a word of encouragement? Don’t limit God! Don’t tell Him what He can do with your life, and don’t tell Him what He can’t do. He’s God; He can do whatever He wants to do. It’s the yielded heart that gets the victory. It’s the person who decides to go with God who finds the incredible favor of the Lord.
