The Truths Of His ComingSample
Abundant Life
John 10:10
Life is one of the great words of the Scriptures. There is a depth of meaning in the word “life” and the verb “to live” or “to have life.” Life is the quality and essence, the energy and power, the force and principle of being. Without the coming of our Savior, life would not exist. Jesus Christ is the source of life. He is the way to life, and He is the truth of life. He is the very substance of life, its very being and energy. God is the very author of life, and He appointed Jesus Christ to bring life to us. Through the life of Jesus, true life has been revealed.
True life or abundant life comes only by believing in Jesus Christ. A person outside of Christ merely exists. Real and abundant life is found only in God. As the creator of life, He alone knows what life really is and what it is supposed to be. This is the reason He sent His Son, Jesus, into the world: to show us what life is. Life is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). When we look at Christ, we see exactly what life is. We understand exactly what Christ means when He says that He came so that we would have life to the full. As you anticipate the birth of Jesus this season, be ever aware that the abundant life you enjoy is because of the Savior.
Study Questions:
· What is life to you?
· Since believing in Jesus, how have you experienced a more abundant life?
· From the characteristics of an abundant life listed in Galatians 5:22-23, which ones do you reflect the most? Which ones are the hardest for you? How can you grow in the ones where you struggle?
About this Plan
