Think about the last thing you ran from. Was it a scary spider in the garage, a member of an opposing team on the field, or even just a creepy noise outside? No matter what it was, you probably ran from it because you knew it had the potential to harm you. In other words, we run from things that we know are bad for us. That’s why Paul urged us here to run from sexual sin. He knew that sexual activity or behaviors that are outside of God’s design for sex have the potential to harm us physically, mentally, and emotionally. But the good news is that when we run from sexual sin, we can do so knowing that we’re running toward a God who loves us. He wants to help us keep running away from what might harm us so we can run toward what’s best for us. This week, ask God to give you the knowledge and strength you need to run from these kinds of sins in your life so that you can run toward Him.
