“Call Me Bitter” Naomi had a lot of emotional pain going on in her life. So much that when she returned to Israel with Ruth she told everyone to not call her Naomi (which means pleasant) but Mara (which means bitter). Yet, in the very next verse and the rest of the book of Ruth, she is always mentioned as Naomi. I am so thankful that God doesn't see us as we see ourselves.
