In Tune – Exploring the Father’s Love 5-Day Devotional PlanSample
Day 4 – When disappointments happen – trust in God.
As Jen turned her life around, she realized that she may have to face the consequence of losing Nathan. She had to grapple with that fact and come to a point of peace where she could say that no matter what, by the grace of God, she would be alright.
We’ve all had our hopes dashed at one point or another. The raise you were hoping for, the relationship you hoped would be forever, the child you hoped to hold in your arms.
Life will let you down. People will disappoint. The hoped-for may never happen.
How do you handle disappointment?
You’ll die inside unless you believe that your heavenly Father wants only good for you. That knowledge and understanding of God’s character is what changed Jen and helped her be strong even with the possibility of losing Nathan.
We don’t always see the big picture. God does not robotically guide each person and every situation. He does, however, oversee the outcome and the end of our faith. Goodness will triumph.
Decide today to trust that the Lord wants only good for your life. Take a moment to let this truth soak into your heart and renew your hope. Expect good things.
Prayer: Father God, I don’t understand everything in my life, but I believe that you want only good for me. I lay my disappointments, my doubts and my fears before you. Help me to trust you. I surrender my life to you and I ask you to strengthen my heart. In Jesus name, amen.
About this Plan
Does God really care about the details of your life? Based on the award winning short film In Tune, this 5-day devotional explores the Father’s love as we follow Jen, a professional violinist driven to succeed while distancing herself from her less-than-perfect childhood. If you’ve ever questioned God’s love for you, if you’ve ever felt alone or abandoned, this devotional is for you. Expect good things.
