In Tune – Exploring the Father’s Love 5-Day Devotional PlanSample
Day 5 – When you have a dream – expect good things.
What’s the dream you’re holding in your heart? Did you know that God delights in answering those deep desires?
Although Jen had come to terms with the consequences of her wrong actions, there was still the spark of hope that her relationship with Nathan would be restored. Confidence in God was growing in her and helping her to dream again, even while she was willing to accept that life may not turn out as she first thought.
The bible tells us God will fulfill the desires of those who fear him – those who revere him and acknowledge that he is the true living God. He takes pleasure in those who hope in his mercy. The Father God loves to lavish his goodness on his children.
It’s okay to dream and to bring your wishes and desires before the Lord. Just like Jen, you may need to keep an open heart for the shape that the dream realized may take, but you can always trust that no matter what it looks like, it will be good.
When you draw near to God, your heart and your desires will begin to line up with his heart and desires – and then great things can happen! It all starts with trusting God’s character and his will for your life. Recognize his intention for you for good and then it becomes easy to believe for big things.
Dare to dream – and expect good things.
Prayer: Dear God, I bring you all my dreams and desires. I believe you are a good Father and I look to you in faith and hope. I expect good things from your hand. In Jesus name, amen.
