Day 3 - Verification - How do I know?
Moses took the grievances of the people to the Lord and asked God to provide meat. God gave them meat. Meat was not what God desired for His people. He gave them what they wanted and He gave it until they were sick of it. Begging for meat was, “rejecting the Lord.”
Sometimes the Lord says, yes and it grieves Him. Sometimes He says no, and it ensures that our bigger promises are protected. I never want an abundance of anything that takes me outside of God’s will.
Heart Check: Think about your desires and cravings. Do they draw you closer to the Lord or farther away from Him?
Prayer: God of love and mercy I want to know Your ways. You are my standard and I want to verify every desire of my heart in the light of Your Word. Lord forgive me for rejecting you in favor of temporary enjoyment and indulgence. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Have you ever wondered if the dreams that you have for your life mirror God's desires for your life? How do you know? Over the next seven days we will walk together to submit our dreams and cravings to God and listen for His response. As we walk through Numbers 11 we will hear the Israelites' desires, cravings, and wishes and listen for God’s answers, provision and dreams for His children then and for us now.
