The 8 Great Promises of JesusSample
Promise # 4 - You will bear much fruit
FOCUS VERSE: “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”
You probably didn’t wake up this morning and say, “I think I’m going to be fruitful today.”
You probably thought about eating a piece of fruit for breakfast, putting fruit on your cereal or eating Froot Loops, but consciously reminding yourself to be fruitful—unlikely that thought crossed your mind.
But it’s something we want for our lives.
To be fruitful means to be “productive, useful, worthwhile, valuable, rewarding, effective, well spent, to make a difference.”
Don’t you want to look back on your life at some time and wish that other people’s lives were better because you walked this earth? Don’t you hope that others needed you or at least appreciated you? Or that you’ll be missed by someone more than your pet beagle?
Jesus promised to make you fruitful and it all starts with what you’re plugged into. An unplugged lamp does nobody any good. It’s just a decoration, providing no service to anyone around it. Plugged in, the lamp can shine a light to help others see, read and prevent deadly toe-stubbing.
Jesus wants you to shine to help others see God, guide them in the truth and prevent them from stumbling in the darkness. If you’re plugged into the world, you’re powerless and you will only cause more harm.
Fruitless people love themselves and will do anything to make sure their needs are met. Fruitful people lay down their lives for others for the sake of Jesus Christ.
Jesus calls these kind of people His friends and He promises to do whatever He can to help fruitful people. Fruitful people get a direct hotline to God. He has plans for these kinds of people because they’re getting something done.
Sadly, unfruitful people get cut off, the power cord snapped and the unit tossed into the trash, laying on a heap of other fruitless appliances that had potential but consciously decided to work for themselves and not the greater good.
Today, choose to be fruitful and plug into the source, allowing yourself to shine and make other people’s lives more productive.
Who doesn’t love the taste of more fruit?

About this Plan
Eventually, inevitably, we notice something we lack. We wonder how we’re going to get our needs met. Meet the Jesus who dares you to ask Him to give you each day your daily bread, who makes promises and keeps them, and who does immeasurably more than you can ask or imagine on a regular basis. Pastor Troy Schmidt guides us through eight promises Jesus keeps with us.
