To Blind a Sorcerer
When the sorcerer, Elymas, blasphemed the Gospel, Paul looked straight at him and told him he’d go blind—and instantly he did (Acts 13:4–12). You may wish you had that kind of power to confound your enemies and defend the Gospel from its critics. You can have a greater anointing of God’s Spirit on your life, but there’s a high price tag: you must love and be deeply committed to the Lord, obedient to Him in all things, and be persistent in prayer. And you must believe. All this requires great self-sacrifice.
