The 5-Minute Bible Reading Plan And Devotional: ActsSample

Power of the Spirit
After the Holy Spirit fell on the disciples they miraculously spoke in the languages of visitors from far-flung lands. Peter then preached boldly to these crowds. Jesus had promised that His disciples would receive power when the Spirit came on them, and that happened (Acts 1:8). You receive a measure of the Spirit at salvation (Ephesians 1:13; 4:30), but Paul encourages you to be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). Ask the Lord to daily fill you full to overflowing with His Spirit of wisdom and power. You need Him to live an effective Christian life.
